UAF Summer Sessions & Lifelong Learning created the 365 SMART Academy, provides many different educational opportunities for Alaskan kids! Spring semester 2025 has 20 courses running through January, February, March, and April. We invite you to preview our website and check out the following classes:
Swimming Lessons with the UAF Women's Swim Team!
In-person enrichment courses for K-12 students supplement their academic curriculum through the spring semester. Subjects include art, theater, athletics, and recreation.
Natural History of Alaska is a virtual course taught by Dr. Ron Smith, University of Alaska Fairbanks Professor Emeritus and designed with homeschooled students in mind. Talk to your homeschool about earning credit for this course.
Spring Break Camps and No-School Day activities provide fun and educational activities for students when school is out.

Important dates:
Registration for swimming lessons opens on Saturday, December 7 at 10 am on Campdoc
Registration for all other SMART Academy courses and Spring Break camps opens on Saturday, December 14 at 10 am on Campdoc
Enrollment and Cancellations:
Enrollment:
Enrollment for all classes is completed through CampDoc. New users will need to create a CampDoc profile to register. If you have used CampDoc to register for previous camps or courses, you should use your existing profile to log in.
Homeschoolers may choose to use their allotment at the time of registration using the allotment coupon code during checkout. Contact your homeschool or the Summer Sessions office for help with the coupon code.
For assistance with registration, please check out our "Campdoc Registration How-to" flyer. We suggest creating a profile before registration opens so you have a head start. You are also welcome to contact our office at 907-474-7021 or to email us at summer@alaska.edu with any questions. We are glad to assist!
If you are not affiliated with a homeschool and are paying for courses independently, a $25 deposit is due at the time of registration.
Full payment and a completed health profile for swim lessons are due on Sunday, January 12.
Full payment and a completed health profile for all other Fall 365 programs are due one week before each class begins. Check the individual course pages for your payment and health profile due date.
Cancellation:
To cancel a registration, you must request a cancellation through CampDoc. Refunds will only be given if you withdraw from the course at least one week prior to the start day (minus a $25 processing fee). Refunds will not be given for cancellations placed within one week of the start date.
The last date to request a cancellation and receive a refund for swimming lessons is Sunday, January 12.
Scholarships are available!
Scholarships for 365 SMART Academy are available for homeschool-unaffiliated students who qualify for Free & Reduced Lunch, SNAP benefits, Denali KidCare, or the WIC program. We also accept proof of current unemployment benefits. If you are unsure if your family qualifies for the Free & Reduced Lunch program, talk with your school.
