Pottery Wheel Camp

Description: Learn a new skill over spring break! Join the creative team at Raven City Studios and spend the week working with clay. Don’t miss this excellent opportunity to make pots on a pottery wheel. Campers will learn the basic techniques of wheel throwing, trimming, and glazing.

Instructor for K-2: Laura Ransom
A bit about your instructor: Laura Ranson is a pottery teacher and artist from Alabama. She took her first pottery class in her hometown, Montevallo, Alabama, in 1991. Laura taught ceramics in Montgomery, Alabama for three years at a local community center. After a 20-plus-year career in higher education administration, she was able to shift her career to ceramics full-time. She moved to Fairbanks in 2001 and joined the Raven City Studio team that year.
