A bit about me: Lyndsi Harris is a Fairbanks based visual artist who works predominately in mixed media on birch tree bark. She is passionate about nature and art, and loves being able to share both of these things through her work.
Modern Embroidery
Grades: 7 - 12

Description: Students will begin by learning a variety of basic embroidery stitches and simple watercolor techniques that will be applied together to create richly textured mixed-media artwork. Students will be encouraged to explore different applications of these historical art forms and, through this experimentation, gain confidence in their unique skills and interpretations as artists. Each class period will consist of a playful warm-up, skill-building, and application of new skills.
